The Nuclear Labrats invite your review pre-studio

Two yet to be released DEMOs are up for your review at Garageband.com/NuclearLabrats

Please take their songs "Church And State" and "Turbin Bomb" for a spin and leave a comment as they welcome your feedback before taking them into the studio. Check out some reviews already posted:

Church And State:

Vividly Original Very interesting...a great mix here. I love the smooth-fuzzy echo-guitars which blend wonderfully with the echoey, effects-laden vocal. I like the soft, laid-back singing. The clean pianos suprise when they join such fuzzy company. The lyrics seem intelligent, political, and very interesting. The unusual yet catchy phrasing helps very colourful images to burn vividly in the mind. While the overall theme is softly meancing, the slower, more-open sections become even beautiful in a melancholic way--you can tell the authors actually love life and are hurt by the disastrous systemic malfunctions in the hierchic structures of our society. I really quite like this. The production could of course be a little cleaner--a couple edits are audible here and there, but overall the levels are good. Really nice, guys.

Sexy Politics like the effects on the vocals, simon and garfunkel meets nine inch nails. great lyrics. thought provoking, creative, poetic. the guitar is a little boring, but the little breaks are worth the wait. interesting cross of genres.

Turbin Bomb:

Ween Like I can't really comment on the lyrics because I can't make them out most of the time. I don't think this is a bad thing because everything sounds good together; in an early-Ween kind of way. nice. The hook is subtle, but perfect for this song. And really adds to the weirdness-factor. Lots of very subtle sounds in your mix. I would love to listen to this extremely loud.

It's a Strange one Lovely electronica style sounds like an indie prince/funkadelic. Lazy smoking vocal really make you wonder where this number is gonna go. It very unique. Not sure what genre to place this song in which is a good thing. The playing can be a little loose and I can't see this troubling the chart. the bass hook is really fat, but probably not enough without a bigger change. the mood is particularly dark and sleazy. The reverse on 2 mins 15 secs adds a bit of enigma, but I honestly feel it needs more foe most people's tastes, then again this isn't gnna be a mass appeal song. it strange unique and I want to hear more of your stuff. Good work.....

60's psychedelic versus 70's pneu-wave The underlying music squares us clearly into a late 70's mode of Wire-avant. UK weirdness that cranks up the amperage without being overbearing or precious. Then there is the vocal. Straight out of "Anthem of the Sun," the squishy compressed Leslie-fied voice brings all of the acid and danger of that crazy summer of love right into focus. You can't understand a word he(?) is saying, but it's cool nonetheless. A funny, strange song. Hook? No, I don't hear one. But the mood is adequately claustrophobic, strange, paranoid, and interesting.
